About Kristin Pierre

Fine Artist, Oil Painter

I have always had a love for art throughout my life.  In high school, I studied many components of studio and fine art, including photography, figure drawing, print making and design – I won the Board of Education Purchase Award my senior year for a 3ft pastel portrait I completed of my brother.

While I studied art in college, I didn’t choose art as a focus for my early adult life.  I spent time traveling and working in orphanages in Jamaica, Thailand, and Peru then pursued a career in Education. I received a Masters Degree, got married, and started a family all while teaching in Elementary Education for 10 years.

My reintroduction to art came in the form of an oil painting class at our local art center. The minute I touched my brush to canvas, it all came rushing back. All my years of studying art culminated into that moment and I felt like I had finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up and since then, I’ve never looked back.

I have studied under numerous Master Painters whose expertise ranges from European Impressionism to traditional American Landscapes. Through my studies with them, along with my own passion to capture beautiful landscapes, I have been integrating both styles into my work as I find myself continually growing and evolving as a fine artist. I would categorize my work as contemporary impressionism.

Along with my journey as an artist, I am a wife, mother to three kids, one dog and two cats. I love traveling & being active, especially outside. I hike, bike, golf and just finished coaching my son’s basketball team. My family and I currently reside in Gulf Shores, AL. where I have my new Studio+Gallery and much of my painting inspiration.

In short, I’m an avid coffee drinker who loves a good adventure. Some people find it crazy that I have the time to paint – I suspect it’s what keeps my sanity.
